| A section of Indian farmers and academics believe that Futures Trading in Agri-Commodities had increased the volatility in food prices. The relevance of Futures Trading is a subject of much debate in the public sphere, especially in the context of rising prices of essential food grains and farmer distress. India's official position on futures markets has been subject to reversals with listing and de-listing of Futures Contracts for Agri-Commodities. My Fulbright project reviews India's potential for reforming its Agri-futures market eco-system in comparison to the developed Futures Market in the U.S. | |
